While you stream music online, songs are cached to your device so music keeps playing even if you lose your network connection. If the player goes offline, it will automatically start playing music that has been cached.
Some good things to know about offline streaming:
- The music will be available offline for up to 30 consecutive days. After that, you will need to bring your player back online.
- You can’t browse or change the music when it’s playing offline.
- We advise you to keep the player online for at least 12 hours (max. 24 hours) in order to resynchronize all of the tracks.
- The offline mode works with all of our supported devices, with the exception of Sonos.
- You need to have enough storage on your player for the offline mode to work. We recommend having a minimum of 4GB of free space.
Storage
You can find out how much music we can cache to your device by checking your storage settings.
- Log in to your account here.
- Click on zones in the top menu.
- Click on the name of the zone that you want to check.
- Click on the settings tab. You can adjust how much space the app can cache by clicking on the listed amount.
Faster offline downloading
For each song you play, we cache it for later use. If you however are in the need of downloading a large set of songs faster, then you can enable “More offline play”.
With this setting turned on, the player will automatically download a set of songs as soon as possible.
- Log in to your account here.
- Click on zones in the top menu.
- Click on the name of the zone where you want to enable this feature.
- Click on the settings tab. You can here toggle More offline play. Please note that by having this setting enabled, your player will consume more of your data plan compared to if you don’t have it enabled.
