Connect your Sonos speakers with Soundtrack to control the music playing in your business.
Connect with Sonos
Using Sonos on a mobile device (Android and iOS)?
-
-
Open the Sonos app
-
Go to Settings > Services
-
Scroll down and press “Add a Service”
-
Search for Soundtrack Player and follow the instructions
-
Connect to your location
-
When you pair your Sonos system to a location we’ll automatically find the best zone to play from. Sonos can choose from zones that are not yet paired to another device.
This also means that you can play different music in as many “Rooms” as you have available zones.
Please note that if a large venue has multiple Wifi networks and therefore separate Sonos systems in the same venue, you will need to set up a location for each Sonos system.
Using Sonos on a desktop device (Windows and Mac)?
-
- Open the Sonos app
- Under the Select a Music Source section, click on Add Music Services.
- Search for Soundtrack Player and follow the instructions
- Connect to your location

Play the same music from all your Sonos speakers
If you want to play the same music from different Sonos speakers connected to the same wifi, you will only need one Soundtrack zone. To get the music to play on all speakers you will need to group the rooms. You can read all about grouping rooms here.
Play different music in each room
If you have multiple Sonos speakers you can choose to group rooms to hear the same music, or you can listen to different music in each room.
Each unique music stream will need its own sound zone to play from. Make sure you have as many sound zones available on the location you paired to Sonos as you plan to have “unique” music streams:
- To your paired location, add as many zones as you need in Soundtrack. Here you can find information on how to add a new zone.
- In the Sonos app, add the “Soundtrack Player” service and follow the on-screen instructions to connect a location to your Sonos. You can find instructions on how to add Soundtrack via this page.
- Whenever you press Play on something in Sonos, an available sound zone will automatically be chosen to play from.
- You’re now ready to start streaming music in multiple rooms.
Examples
Let’s say you have two rooms, “Kitchen” and “Restaurant”.
Example 1
You want to listen to the same music in these rooms, so you group them together in the Sonos app. You play music from Soundtrack in the Sonos app to this group. For this, you only need 1 sound zone available in the location you paired to Sonos.
Example 2
You want to listen to Pop FM in the Kitchen, but listen to classical music in the Restaurant. You can select each room and play the music you want in the Sonos app. Because you have two unique streams of music, you need 2 sound zones available in the location you paired to Sonos.
Features
Control the music remotely
You can use as many devices as you need to control your Sonos system. To be able to do so, you will need to be connected to the same wifi as your Sonos. Simply choose “add to existing Sonos system” while on the same wifi and start to control the music.
This way you don’t need a specific device at your business to run the music. You and your staff can simply control the music through your own devices.
Schedule
Sonos offers a scheduling feature that is similar to how you schedule music in Soundtrack. In Sonos, you can set an “alarm” to start playing music at a certain time and length. You can find more information on setting an alarm here.
Shuffle
Unlimited users are now able to choose to play a playlist in linear order or in shuffle mode.
When selecting a playlist, either select:
1. “Play” and have the music playing in a linear order.
2. “Shuffle” and the playlist will start shuffling.
